Attempts to blame Bush for Katrina are failing

I have no problem criticizing a Republican administration, especially when they really deserve the slap, as in the case of our lame enforcement of immigration laws after 9-11.

I have no trouble believing that the federal government does many things badly, and wastes bushels of our money in the process.

But riddle me this: how can the ruling liberals in America's only one-party state, Lousiana, escape elite criticism for failures in the face of Katrina, while our current President is practically accused of allowing some kind of natural-disaster-genocide? How, pray tell, can a state (and a city) that has been run by Democrats...FOREVER, be seen as the victim of an administration that has been in office for six years? How can Sen. Mary Landrieu claim to want to punch out the president without being booed off the stage and asked, through gritted teeth, "What the hell were you doing?"

Are Governer Blanco and Mayor Nagin really going to continue to mug for the camera with those smug I-told-you-so faces and not be pelted with rotten eggs by anyone even remotely familiar with the last 50 years of liberal Democratic rule in that corrupt state?

But perhaps I'm being too cynical. Maybe the smear campaign isn't working. Over at the Washington Times Wesley Pruden has some interesting thoughts about the attempts to link "Bushitler" (as he's known at "Camp Crawford") with Katrina's devastation. In Not much traction Pruden takes on "The vultures of the venomous left."

Don't miss the part where the Huffington Post idiot claims that the survivors were eating the dead...on the fourth day! Or the section where Jesse "I love Fidel" Jackson and Al "Pogrom" Sharpton inform all us bigots in the South that "refugee" is a racist term.

I, for one, cannot wait for the next elections in New Orleans and Lousisana. Until then, I agree with Pruden that a "thank you" for the massive aid effort from Americans would be a nice gesture from Comrade Nagin and Commissar Blanco.

Yes, but the commissions and inquiries have not even started yet! The Angry Left is NOT going to let this drop so easily. First they had the Abu Ghraib, then Downing Street, and now it's Katrina.

It isn't going to be pretty.

Yeah and lets not forget Flouride and and and Paris Hilton and and yeah every thing else wrong with America! I tell you it is so bad my 83 year old mother went into a ballistic rant on me putting down Bush as she believes every thing on the TV bad about him..yup all his fault. I had to politely hang up on her.

You're both right, of course. We shant hear the end of this. What bothers me the most is not that the Fed (or FEMA) will be criticized (they both generally deserve it), but that two liberal cows, Nagin and Blanc, will get off the hook.
